Kohala is the Hawaiian name for whale which you can often see along the shores of the Kohala Coast and Hilo Bay. Whales play a large role in Hawaiian legends and have great cultural significance for Native Hawaiians. You can also spot whales from the southern shores of O'ahu and the Auau Channel between Maui, Molokai, and Lanai.
